Bi Ntumngia (Your daughter)

January 23, 2022
by martin

Mama, as I always call you. I can’t believe you are no more. When I heard you were ill, I left everything to come and take care of you and later on Dad was sick, so I was able to be there for the two of you while you both are around; I decided to do my best to take care of both of you. Now that you are no longer here, I know you are at peace and at rest with Dad in heaven.
Mom, to write about you will take forever but I know that all your wise words, all your advice will always stay with me. I know you are looking down from heaven smiling as I carry on knowing I did my best for you when I was opportune to.
Mama, you fought a good fight and when you coughed and took your last breath, right in front of me, I realized that it was your time. It is tough but I know the Lord is our strength and God has been with us throughout this long battle of your health journey.
So many stories in my mind, how you made sure we learn how to cook, how you always advise ladies in maintaining their family homes. Mama, you have left a powerful impact in this world. You were so calm but so wise. You were an amazing beautiful, intelligent wife and mom.
Mom, you are the embodiment of Proverbs 31:26-27″She speaks wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue. She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness”. Yes, you were so dynamic; teaching and later on doing business. You always brought us beautiful African outfits when you came to the U.S. to visit us and at the same time, ladies purchased beautiful African outfits and jewelry from you.
I remember growing up in Ivory Coast, how you had to pick us up from school, cook for us and at the same time take care of your business and also advice others who were going through different challenges. You were so industrious that you left such a powerful impact in my life.
By God’s grace, all the dreams that you had for us will materialize in due time. Farewell, beautiful mom until we meet again. Say hello to Papa and your son, Neba for me. I love and miss you, Mama!
