Suh Kapapi (Your Grandson)

January 12, 2022
by martin
Susanna Matuh Tisighe Ntumngia. That was her name. We called her grandma, and she called me Suhmi or husihusi. She was the woman who raised the most important woman in my life. The sacrifices she took for her family have been felt by us all, it paved the way for were we all are today and I am so grateful. That her dream of continuing school was passed on through her children and that we as grandchildren made her proud.
When I think of grandma now, I remember the days when I was in boarding school back home and I would sneakily take some Nido or cookies and she would let me not get in trouble with grandpa but give an eye that let me know not to do it again. I think of when I got slapped for whistling in the kitchen. I think of entering the cab with her to go to her store and help out. All In all, I appreciate all Grandma has done for me and my family and I’m glad that she is now resting peacefully in Heaven with Grandpa
